Stephen Nedoroscik Inspires Sterling Gym Members Where He Trained They say you should never forget your roots. For gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik, who played a key role in helping Team USA achieve a milestone not seen since 2008, those roots trace back to a gym in Sterling, Massachusetts. The Worcester native, a specialist on the pommel horse, contributed to winning bronze in the men's team event—a historic achievement as it marked America’s first podium finish in 16 years. At the Sterling Academy of Gymnastics, where Nedoroscik first trained, a watch party celebrated his success. “My parents started this business in 1992 with just a small dream,” said Matt Carbone. “Now, 32 years later, we have an Olympic bronze medalist who is still competing in event finals on Saturday.
